Resurgence is a 96min documentary about Themba Lukhele who is walking in the fullness of his calling, endeavoring incarceration alongside the stigma that is associated with Correctional Service time.
How the Skeem GP as a brand name came into existence, was as a result of many unfortunate series of events, being born in the township during the Apartheid era, in a warzone torn township as the community fought against the injustices of the system. Being accustomed to weapons that were readily available, this was the birth of a love for guns which quickly spiraled into criminal activities which were seen as a short-cut to financial emancipation.
As a child we see core parental principles instilled that we get to individually identify in the current as he walks in the fullness of his calling, not leaving behind freewill to explore as a young man into adulthood. The documentary unfolds through a series of storylines: The Childhood of Themba Lukhele, Skeem GP Lifestyle, Prison Life, The current walking in the fullness of His calling. We hear characters sharing their personal stories realising growing up in the era where a dead body lying by the roadside, a child exposed to such brutal does to an innocent mind, we learn the awareness of behavior when violence, fear and faith need to be decided in an instant. We learn about self-doubt and confidence, courage, hope and truth.
